Our Mission Statement

The Iranian Community School, founded in 1986, is a non-profit, non-political, educational entity dedicated to the language, culture, history, literature, music, and art of Iranfor the young and adult residents of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area.      

History of Iranian Community School

Through the untiring efforts of founder Mrs. Deyhimi, the Iranian Community School started its activity in spring of 1986. The first Persian language classes were given in her home with just two students. The enrollment quickly grew to six, then sixteen after just six months of classes. Moving from her home to Pimit Hill Center of Fairfax County, then to St. Luke Church in McLean and to Emmaus United Church of Christ in Vienna, Virginia. Finally, moved to its current location 311 Maple Avenue West, in the Town of Vienna, Virginia. The school has greatly expanded its activities to meet the needs of its students. Now, the Iranian Community School is in the enviable position of demand exceed available space and potential expansion in its current site. The Iranian Community School, Inc., is a non-profit educational organization.
